My Story

Founder: Andrew Villanueva

In the middle of 2022, I started exploring meetups and events looking for new friends after my split from a long term relationship. I have explored different types of events from apps like Meetup, Eventbrite, FB Groups, Luma, and more. It was a process, albeit rather slow, but I started making new guy friends and then eventually made a few from the opposite sex. However, I made an observation which can be summarized below:

  • The attendee list is not reliable. Multiple times have I attended events with 50+ RSVPs, but less than 10 actual turnout.

  • Hosts can add a pay wall, but unless their reputation is established or they do a good deal of promotions, there tend to be less attendees than expected.

  • After a certain time, people get burnt out. The hosts stop because they notice a shift in the turnout and the attendees start to avoid certain events due to experiences from other events.

  • Men are more present than women. The gender ratio skews more to the male. Women tend to join once and not return.

  • Most people don't know how to hold good conversations nowadays. This is caused by social media and due to the implicit expectation of the genders which mostly affects men.

Most of the people I meet and friends alike have confirmed these points. And thus I started to look for a solution to this problem. If we can fix the issue with people not attending events they signed up for, then hosts will be more motivated to organize more events. Afterwards, we can look for solutions to the problem of how to enable better interactions during the events.

This is how Imprezzi was born. It's an event hosting app that utilizes a special algorithm that scores people's actions in order to promote compliant behavior and discourage delinquent actions. It is a form of social scoring that is not tied to any political movements, but solely on an individual's performance in the context of socialization.

I am the creator and sole developer of this app. I get assistance from friends too. I would be delighted to get some feedback from you whether you are a passionate host or a casual attendee.
